The role involves a strategic leadership position, split between client-facing and technical delivery. It requires excellent communication skills, along with technical capabilities to work collaboratively with business and HNW clients.
You will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing client-facing responsibilities for the team unit. Your responsibilities will include providing high-quality accounting and tax services to clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and delivering high-quality advice.
About the Role
The work you will be involved with at the firm is varied, with clients' needs ranging across business and HNW private client services. The role will support existing and new clients referred to you from other areas of the business.
As a Senior Manager, you will lead a highly engaged accounting team and be responsible for:
* Liaising with a portfolio of clients focusing on business services, HNW private tax, and SMSF.
* Providing excellent client-facing service and advice, leveraging your technical capabilities to build trust and strong relationships with your clients.
* Understanding the vision and goals of each client and providing advice and service to assist them in achieving such goals.
* Providing tailored advice across varied and complex accounting issues, financial analysis, tax legislation, and broader client strategies.
* Producing expert and complex accounting advice with an emphasis on cost effectiveness and communicating key issues directly to the client.
* Being an approachable manager and motivating members of your team with an approach that builds trust and inspires top performance.
* Creating opportunities that increase business in the Accounting Unit and identifying new business opportunities and cross-referrals to other operations within the firm.
* Preparing financial statements, tax returns, and other compliance documents, including overseeing junior staff in relation to same.
* Prioritizing workflows while keeping all clients informed on timelines for delivery.
* Collaborating with clients and advisors (legal, finance, insurance, and investment) to create custom solutions.
Key Requirements
For this role, we are seeking a professional with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field. You will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting or a similar role, with a focus on business services, personal tax, and SMSF. Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and financial reporting is also essential.
Proven experience in managing and leading a team, fostering a positive work environment. Ability to analyze complex financial information and provide strategic advice to clients.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrate a strong understanding of local and national tax regulations and showcase a proven track record of successfully implementing tax strategies.
Exhibit exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team. Be capable of presenting complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
