The role: We are currently looking for a highly technical individual to work within our Technology Office. This is a mid level position for someone who is passionate about IT and looking to progress their career. Responsibilities will include: Taking responsibility for implementing systems functional solutions, such as performing proof of concepts (POC’s), reviewing, and carrying out system test plans that guarantee the system's acceptable quality and integrity. Performing tasks to analyse and monitor health checks, reviewing security alerts, analyzing major updates, and patching to run the overall systems with optimum accuracy. Creating project plans for new systems, allocate resources, save costs, and manage and administer projects through the application of project management approaches such as Scrum and Agile, and its principles, and procedures. Creating, designing, and enforcing security standards and policies, across all systems to maintain ISO standards. Creating a backup and recovery procedures and perform security and integrity control operations to establish preventive maintenance. Assisting with system projects and sending the advisory when required for any new changes or updates. Identifying, examining, informing, and training users to guarantee understanding and compliance with organization policies and guidelines and suggesting best practices for business operations. Handling outages, incidents and performing mitigation processes by analyzing audits and system logs and preparing a post incident report with preventive measures Collaborating with users to prepare and document the systems and business requirements. Identifying, assessing, and suggesting inefficient systems and business processes, functioning, behavior and recommending efficient and optimal practices. Producing training and user guides and holding workshop and presentation sessions with teams. Utilizing data and process modelling methods to produce precise system specifications for high level design and development of a system. About you: Bachelor of Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity or other related IT degree Awareness and understanding of cloud providers and their services (AWS, Azure, etc) Strong understanding of IP Networking Concepts (CIDR blocks, subnetting, etc) Strong understanding of CI/CD process Enthusiastic learner, who enjoys keeping abreast of industry developments Team player – enjoys working with other members of the team Energetic and highly outcome focussed Understanding of software development processes Nice to have: Hands on experience with container technologies (Docker) and Linux/Unix Hands on experience with Python or similar scripting language Basic understanding to Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation etc Basic understanding to builds tools (e.g Jenkins, Maven, Grunt etc) Experience with Atlassian products (JIRA, JIRA Service Desk, Confluence etc) Good understanding with NIST, ITIL, ISO 27001 or other Cyber Security Framework Why Sandstone?
