Population and Community Health (PaCH) is part of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.
PaCH provides community health services that give care to individuals, families and carers, as well as population health services that focus on the whole community or key groups within the community.
PaCH's services are provided at the District's hospitals, community-based facilities including child and family health centres, community health centres and specialist clinics. We work with other service providers across South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, including hospitals and mental health services.

The role
This position has operational accountability for Child and Family Counselling Services within Population & Community Health and reports operationally to the Children and Families Program Lead, Child Youth & Family Services and has professional accountability to the Social Work or Psychology Discipline Advisor.
The Child and Family Counselling Services Team Leader will provide operational direction, lead, guide and manage the service across SESLHD and facilitate the implementation of high levels of clinical expertise in order to provide high quality care to children, young people and families consistent with NSW Ministry of Health (MoH) and South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards. The position contributes directly to the development of policy, with consideration of the strategic context.

Selection Criteria
* Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and Health & Community Employees Psychologists (State) Award and minimum two-year full-time APAC-accredited Master's degree or higher in clinical psychology (or equivalent area of practice endorsement (AoPE) area), along with registration and relevant AoPE Endorsement with AHPRA, registered Psychologist require a recognised 4 year degree in psychology and 8 years' experience post full registration. Clinical Psychologist require full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, with Endorsement in Clinical Psychology (or eligibility to progress to same), along with a minimum two-year full-time equivalent Master or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning.
* Extensive clinical and leadership experience as a practising social worker/psychologist including assessment, counselling, therapy and case management with children, young people and their carers where there are concerns regarding the emotional, social and behavioural wellbeing of children.
* Demonstrated ability to provide high level of guidance, leadership and management of resources and services and consider the context and the impact of trauma and abuse on clients within the service and organisation.
* Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
* Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and demonstrated application of evidence-based practice within their discipline.
* Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
* Current drivers' licence and a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
