Vets of Geelong is a family-owned veterinary group with clinics in Highton, Geelong West and Lara, with a new East Geelong clinic opening soon.
We are creating a hands-on Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator role focused on the technical upkeep and smooth operation of our clinics and associated properties.
This role is suited to a practical, solutions-focused person who enjoys working independently and taking ownership across multiple sites.
About the Role
This role goes beyond basic upkeep and focuses on maintaining safe, functional and efficient clinic environments. Responsibilities include:
* Coordinate and perform preventative maintenance across buildings, equipment and grounds
* Diagnose and resolve day-to-day maintenance issues across multiple sites
* Carry out minor carpentry, repairs and adjustments
* Complete basic (non-licensed) plumbing and electrical troubleshooting
* Manage equipment movement, setup and minor repairs
* Monitor facility condition and identify maintenance risks before they arise
* Coordinate and liaise with external trades for specialised works
* Maintain grounds and external presentation (gardens, pressure washing, general upkeep)
* Occasional maintenance support for residential properties connected to the business
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need to be a qualified tradesperson, however trade qualifications or relevant experience are highly regarded.
We’re looking for someone with strong practical and technical capability who is confident handling a wide range of maintenance tasks. This role is suited to a skilled, hands-on operator.
You will ideally have:
* Experience in property maintenance, facilities, or a trade environment
* Skills in carpentry, repairs, and maintenance troubleshooting
* Understanding of basic plumbing and electrical systems
* Experience across multiple sites or properties (highly regarded)
You will also be:
* Self-motivated and organised
* Comfortable working independently
* Solutions-focused and proactive
* Someone who takes ownership and pride in their work
* Professional and able to communicate with staff and trades
What We Offer & Support Provided:
* Salary guide: $75,000 – $80,000 (pro rata depending on structure and experience)
* Flexible role structure (full-time or part-time)
* Company vehicle provided for work use only

Tools & Equipment:
* This role is best suited to someone who brings their own core tools typical of a handyman or trade background
* Additional materials and specialised equipment will be supplied as required
Practical Requirements:
* Current driver’s licence
* White Card (or willingness to obtain)
* Police Check (or willingness to obtain if required)
* Ability to safely use tools and equipment
