About the Role
This casual position involves flexible shifts, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, public holidays, and sleepovers as required.
You will be supporting children and young people who may have experienced trauma and present with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing day-to-day care and structured support
* Supporting routines, boundaries, and life skills development
* Transporting young people to school, appointments, and activities
* Implementing case plans and therapeutic strategies
* Completing shift notes, documentation, and incident reports
* Managing escalations using calm, trauma-informed responses
* Maintaining safe and respectful home environments
What We're Looking For
We are seeking workers who demonstrate:
* Experience working with children and young people in Child Safety, OOHC, or residential care (preferred)
* A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice
* The ability to maintain professional boundaries
* Emotional resilience and sound judgement
* Strong written and computer skills for documentation
* Confidence working within structured care plans
Mandatory Requirements
* Current QLD Blue Card (Paid)
* Current QLD Driver's Licence (P2 or above)
* Reliable, insured vehicle
* Current First Aid & CPR
* Right to work in Australia
* Minimum of Certificate IV (or enrolled) in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Work, Community Services, or related field (as per QLD Minimum Qualification Standards)
Training such as TCI, MAYBO, or Hope & Healing will be highly regarded.
