Clinical Safety and Patient Experience Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Safety and Patient Experience Leader to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-level support to promote a positive safety and quality culture within our organisation.

The role involves working collaboratively with facility managers, staff, and consumers to identify opportunities for improving patient safety, patient centredness, and outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

* To promote a positive safety and quality culture through the provision of high-level support to the Director Clinical Governance and Patient Safety & Clinical Quality Manager.
* Working collaboratively with FWLHD facility and service managers, staff, and consumers to identify opportunities to review and improve patient safety and patient centredness.
* Capacity building, monitoring performance, incident and complaints management, dissemination of relevant information, preparation of relevant documents and reports.

Requirements

* Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Practitioner or tertiary qualifications in Allied Health with registration/relevant eligibility for association membership, with at least 3 years postgraduate experience and appropriate post graduate qualifications (or willingness to complete qualifications within three years of commencement).
* Demonstrated experience in leadership roles with responsibility for organisational and/or clinical performance and the ability to influence the development of a culture which is open to critical reflection and change.
* Demonstrated experience and understanding in quality, patient safety, clinical risk management within the healthcare environment, including the application and evaluation of patient safety programs, incident investigation and/or clinical risk identification tools.
* Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, including negotiation and liaison with well-developed written and oral communication skills to identify and mediate conflict and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with a range of multidisciplinary stakeholders.
* Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practice of Patient Safety, Incident Management, Improvement Science/quality improvement methodologies, clinical risk management, and experience in incident investigations e.g. Clinical Incident Reviews.
* Proven ability to function effectively as part of the senior management team and to work collaboratively with other professionals to promote a positive workplace culture.
* Demonstrated ability to work with minimal direct supervision, plan and manage personal workload, multiple projects concurrently, with competing deadlines across the unit, organisation and MOH and the ability to prioritise accordingly.
