Work health safety advisor

Brisbane
Peoplecorp HR Recruitment Specialists
Posted: 15 April
Offer description

This is a leading ASX-listed financial and professional services organisation with a genuine commitment to workplace safety. Operating across multiple jurisdictions, they have built a strong safety culture and are now investing in the capability to take it further. With circa. 2500 employees across multiple locations in Australia, you'll be joining a well-established business, with a new HR senior leadership team in place to drive a new people strategy, with safety playing a crucial role as part of the new 2026 people strategy.

THE ROLE

This is a broad, hands-on WHS advisory role that covers the full spectrum of safety operations. You will own the development and continuous improvement of WHS policies and procedures, lead incident and hazard investigations, and drive a meaningful psychosocial safety program across the organisation. You will manage workers compensation cases end-to-end, coordinate compliance registers and emergency management processes, and prepare reporting for both the business and the Board.

This is not a tick-box compliance role. You will be expected to think proactively, engage leaders with confidence, and bring practical solutions to complex safety challenges. You will work closely with HR, finance, and global health and safety committees, and represent the organisation with external regulators, insurers and brokers.

Salary banding on offer is between $130k - $140k + $10k STI + super.

Please note this role can be based in Sydney or Brisbane and either be full time or part time with hybrid working arrangements.

THE CANDIDATE

You bring solid, demonstrated experience in a WHS role where you have been responsible for both proactive and reactive safety activity. You have a strong working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation across multiple jurisdictions, and you are comfortable managing the full lifecycle of workers compensation and return-to-work cases. Your experience in incident investigation, root-cause analysis and risk assessment is matched by your ability to communicate clearly and influence leaders at all levels.

A Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety is required. A Return to Work Coordinator certificate, or willingness to obtain one, is expected. Above all, you are organised, commercially aware, and motivated by making workplaces genuinely safer.
