There are two AO6 Senior Project Officer (Identified) roles within the regional First Nations team, each contributing to the development and delivery of initiatives that build culturally capable schools and staff.
These positions lead key projects such as the regional rollout of Cultural Capability training, leadership development in culturally safe practice, case support for complex school or community matters, and school-based work to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across curriculum and classroom environments.
Working collaboratively with schools, regional teams, and community partners, these roles strengthen cultural safety, alignment with departmental priorities, and genuine connections between schools and communities under the Equity and Excellence strategy.

Your Responsibilities
As the Senior Project Officer (Identified), your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Provide cultural advice and guidance to support case navigation for individual students with a focus on transition pathways in the nominated region.
* Plan and coordinate professional development programs and education and training activities for school-based staff and students.
* Develop and provide support service programs for schools that will assist in encouraging the educational participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
* Undertake project planning, analysis, integrate project activities and evaluate the impact of projects and initiatives.
* Develop, implement and monitor project services in consultation with stakeholders to ensure identified needs are met.
* Research, develop, maintain and review operational policies, standards, procedures and programs to support the unit's function across the department.
* Prepare briefing material, submissions, papers and reports.
* Coordinate, organise, participate and promote the activities of the work unit.
* Develop and maintain relevant links and networks within the region, the department, other government agencies and other entities.
