WA Country Health Service, Kalgoorlie Hospital is seeking Obstetric and Gynaecology Service Registrar for Fixed Term full time appointments for up to three years commencing in February 2026, with possibility of extension(s).
POSITION PROFILE
The service Registrar job is a unique opportunity to be exposed to a broad variety of general obstetrics and gynaecology including minimally invasive procedures.

* The department has three consultant Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, three registrars, one Intern and four GPOs participating on the out of hours roster. The roster is one in four on call weekdays and one in four weekends.
* Work involves high risk antenatal clinics and gynaecological outpatients, three theatre lists per week, labour ward and maternity assessment unit, emergency consults in ED.
* You will be the first responder, review and manage patients as indicated under direct or indirect supervision by consultants.

The unit has accreditation to train for Certificate in Women's Health, basic and advanced DRANZCOG. The department is proud of its culture of hands-on and clinical teaching There is protected teaching for registrars every Tuesday afternoon including formal presentations, workshops, journal club and joint obstetric and paediatric maternity and mortality meeting. Furthermore, the department is actively involved in the teaching of medical students at the Rural Clinical School every Friday afternoon during term time.

REGION PROFILE
Kalgoorlie Health Campus is a 100-bed inpatient facility and the largest regional public hospital in WA. When you join the team at Kalgoorlie Health Campus, you'll become part of a close-knit community of health professionals including specialist general surgeons, physicians, paediatricians and emergency medicine doctors.

The hospital supports medical students through the Rural Clinical School, junior doctors rotating from Perth, Workplace Based Assessment doctors and registrars across a number of specialties. Fly in fly out clinicians and private clinicians provide additional supportive health services to the region.

Kalgoorlie is Australia's largest outback city, and the heart of Western Australia's Goldfields region - Australia's gold capital. The area is more than three times the size of Victoria and covers almost a third of WA's total land mass. As the largest region in WA, its diverse natural environments range from sprawling deserts in the North and East to pristine white beaches and emerald seas in the South.

Employee Benefits
Registrar Year 1-7 $152,756 to $203,909 p.a. pro rata*

* *includes base salary $125,010 to $170,682 pa, professional development allowance $10,969 pa and 12% employer contributed superannuation.
* Salary effective as of 03/09/2025.
* Appointment will be made based on assessment of relevant recent skills and experience.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL TO THE ROLE
Applicants must hold General AHPRA Registration, ideally at least PGY4 level and have six to 12 months experience within Obstetrics and Gynaecology; with a preference for candidates who have experience from Australia or a comparable health system.

* Demonstrated relevant clinical and procedural experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

* Demonstrated understanding of knowledge of culturally appropriate care.

* Demonstrated participation in continuing medical education.
