Building and Development Certification Assistant
This is a temporary position, working full-time hours on a 11-month contract, anticipated to commence on 13 April 2026 and conclude on 1 March 2027.
* Oversee the Building and Development Teams NSW ePlanning Portal
* Efficiently coordinate the lodgement, amendment and determination of development and certification applications and certificates received via the NSW ePlanning Portal
* Ensure application assessment timeframes are met and urgent tasks are actioned promptly.
Your new job
The primary objective of the Building and Development Certification Assistant is to provide professional services to the Building and Development Team to ensure the delivery of the objectives of Council’s Community Strategic Plan and Council’s Delivery Program relevant to the Building and Development Team.

About you:
* Relevant qualification in Local Government (Planning), business administration, building or planning (minimum Certificate IV), working towards such a qualification or minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
* Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office, smart technology applications, data management systems and computer based Geographic Information Systems
* High level analytical, research and problem-solving skills with the ability to negotiate and liaise with key stakeholders.
* Ability to work cooperatively with developers, builders, the community, consultants, Council staff and public and private agencies.
* Ability to research and implement innovative administrative strategies to improve business performance
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Sound planning and organisational skills, with high literacy and numeracy
* Ability to work effectively within a team and maintain accurate written and electronic records
* Exceptional customer service skills.
* Class C Drivers Licence
This role requires a satisfactory National Police History Criminal Check prior to commencing.
The salary range being offered for this full-time position is $2,979 - $3,353.40 gross per fortnight plus superannuation which equates to an annual salary of $77,454 - $87,188.40 gross plus superannuation (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience) and long service leave after 5 years.
