Location: Parramatta, NSW
Employment type: Ongoing, Full-time
Salary: Clerk 9/10, $ 129,464.00 to $ 142, super and leave loading

Shape Strategic Financial Decision-Making Across DCJ

We're seeking a proactive Senior Financial Analyst to support the Finance Business Partnering team within the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) working within Homes NSW. This role provides strategic financial insights, high-level analysis, and expert advice that informs key decisions across one of DCJ's major divisions.

Homes NSW is the lead NSW Government agency that delivers the NSW Government's social and affordable housing strategy alongside it's focus on reducing homelessness across the state.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who is systems savvy, thrives on data-driven problem solving, collaboration, and contributing to meaningful public outcomes. Working for Homes NSW you will be contributing to the 10-year plan to reform the social housing system increasing supply, improving the quality of social housing and building inclusive communities across the State.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager - Finance Business Partners, you'll serve as a critical interface between business operations, central Finance, and external stakeholders such as NSW Treasury. You'll use your analytical and communication skills to provide advice that helps shape strategy, budgeting, and performance outcomes across the Division.

You will:

* Deliver strategic, tactical, and operational financial analysis and advice to divisional executives.
* Assist in preparing high-quality, accurate, and timely financial reporting that supports effective decision-making.
* Develop and monitor divisional budgets that align with business priorities and funding parameters.
* Identify funding sources, manage budget pressures, and implement mitigation strategies.
* Analyse the financial impacts of divisional initiatives, including costing and funding considerations.
* Support continuous improvement and business transformation activities across financial reporting, planning, and governance processes; with a primary focus on systems and data complementing current processes.

What We're Looking For

We'd like to hear from candidates who can bring:

* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Business or a related discipline (CPA/CA or near completion highly regarded).
* Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills with advanced Excel and systems capability. A passion for driving data driven decision making is a must
* The ability to interpret and communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
* The ability to work in an environment of innovation and change, with a can-do attitude and focus on delivery
* Experience managing or supporting strategic financial planning and reporting in a large or complex organisation.
* A proactive, can-do attitude, with excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Knowledge or experience working with MWZ or similar financial systems (advantageous).
