About the role
We are seeking a permanent Senior Environmental Consultant to be based in Newcastle or the Hunter Valley NSW. The role supports a wide variety of clients and may require occasional travel to build client relationships and complete projects. The position will work closely with the Principal Environmental Consultant and offers the opportunity to shape the Ecology discipline of the business. Flexible working arrangements will be considered to meet the needs of the preferred candidate.
Key project areas include:
- Site support for several mining operations
- Pre-clearance and Fauna Spotter Catcher
- Mine rehabilitation walkover assessments and monitoring
- Biodiversity Offsets monitoring programs
- Environmental due diligence and advice
- Internal assurance to External Auditing (Independent Environmental Audits)
- Management Plans
About you
- Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years environmental experience (previous consulting or ecology experience favourable)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work autonomously
- The ability to gain Fauna Spotter Catcher accreditation
- Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia
- Hold a current driver's license

Job potential
This role has the potential to shape the Environmental Ecology arm of the business and may progress to a more senior role and lead a team of professionals on flora, fauna and vegetation surveys. There is also potential to undertake work throughout WA where applicable.
