Urban Planner
An opportunity is available for an Urban Planner to join an established planning consultancy delivering a diverse mix of statutory and strategic planning projects. This role suits a planner who enjoys report writing, working on subdivision and development applications, and contributing practical planning advice across a range of projects. The position offers strong flexibility, career development support and a collaborative team environment.
Manage and contribute to a range of planning matters, supporting clients through planning approval processes while delivering high-quality, well‐reasoned planning outcomes. The role involves direct liaison with local government authorities, referral agencies and stakeholders, and provides scope to work across both statutory assessment and strategic planning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and manage statutory planning applications including development applications, subdivisions, structure plans and scheme amendments
* Produce clear, well‐structured planning reports, submissions and written advice
* Provide practical planning advice to clients across residential, commercial and mixed‐use developments
* Contribute to strategic projects such as planning strategies, policy reviews and structure planning
* Liaise with local government officers and external stakeholders to facilitate timely approvals
* Manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently
* Support and mentor junior planners, sharing technical knowledge and best‐practice approaches

Salary $80,000 - $100,000 + superannuation + bonuses (commensurate with experience)
Skills And Experience
* Degree qualification in Urban and Regional Planning
* Experience in a consultancy or local government planning role
* Strong understanding of Western Australian planning legislation and processes
* Demonstrated strength in report writing and statutory assessment
* Experience working on subdivision applications
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and professional communication
