Organisation: Sunshine Coast International College (SCIC)
Position: English Language Teacher
Type: Casual. Four days/five evenings per week. Paid in accordance with the Educational Services (Post-Secondary Education) Award 2010.
Description: SCIC provides English language courses to students aged 12 and over, from a variety of nationalities. At SCIC we offer everything from General English (GE) to English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and Cambridge CAE.
**Duties**:
- Preparing and teaching TESOL classes following the SCIC curriculum guidelines.
Note: All classes are 20hrs p/w, with daytime courses running Mon-Thur in 5-hour shifts and evening classes running Mon-Fri in 4-hour shifts.
- Developing and marking assessment tests.
- Attending meetings once a fortnight and undertaking professional development training as required.
- Administrative duties as required.
- Organising and supervising activities and special events.
Qualifications and Experience required:
- A recognized degree or equivalent is necessary.
- A recognized TESOL qualification is necessary.
- Experience TESOL teaching preferred.
- A valid WWCC (Working With Children Check) is mandatory.
Skills and Attributes required:
- ICT knowledge - word processing skills, knowledge of Outlook and various social media.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- Keen desire to work with students. Patience and enthusiasm.
- Time management and planning skills.
