About This Opportunity
We have an exciting opening for a Production Superintendent to join our team at our historic site in Maryvale, Victoria. This role will oversee the Power & Recovery area, ensuring seamless operations.
The Key Responsibilities:
* Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee production activities, guaranteeing safety, productivity, and environmental targets are consistently met.
* Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of operators to foster a high-performance work environment, promoting collaboration and open communication.
* Process Optimization: Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on process enhancement, waste reduction, cost optimization, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
* Maintenance and Engineering Collaboration: Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure maximum uptime, prioritizing maintenance jobs and organizing isolations and permits for shutdowns.

Ideal Candidate Profile
* Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leading longstanding production teams, preferably within a heavy manufacturing environment.
* People Leadership Skills: Demonstrated passion for people leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
* Process Manufacturing Knowledge: In-depth understanding of process manufacturing, production scheduling, and operational best practices.
* Tertiary Qualification: Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, preferably chemical engineering.
* Leadership and Supervisory Skills: Well-developed leadership and supervisory skills, with experience in mentoring and guiding teams.
* Technical Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, and experience using SAP would be highly regarded.
* Agility and Adaptability: Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and respond effectively to emerging challenges.
