A unique hospitality role in the wilderness!
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef/s to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality food across our various food outlets, ensuring exceptional standards of kitchen management, cleanliness, and food safety, all while providing a positive and professional experience for both customers and colleagues. This is a unique opportunity to cook amazing food surrounded by the Tasmanian wilderness.
Duties & key responsibilities
* Assist Head Chef with delivering menus for daily operations, as well as functions around events.
* Ensuring all kitchen equipment is in good working order and ensuring Head Chef and Management are aware of needs.
* Manage food stores and ordering of stock as required or directed by the Head Chef.
* Preparing food for service
* Cooking to the prescribed menu as required under the direction of the Head Chef.
* Ensure that food leaves the kitchen simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely manner. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
* Prepare and cook food for the Bike Park cafe, The Local and Summit outlets as required.
* Being available for special functions as required from time to time.
* Perform other duties from time to time as required and directed by the Head Chef/Management.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience as a Chef, Cook, or in a similar culinary role, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
* A passion for food and a commitment to high standards of quality and customer service.
* Solid knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen best practices.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and special events as needed.
* A positive, professional attitude and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
* Interest in mountain biking or outdoor activities is an asset.
The role will include flexible hours between 20-38hr a week, with full time equivalent hours generally available if desired. This position has immediate (preferred) start, with work available until late July.
