About the role
We are seeking a senior process development engineer to design and develop a Test & Measurement system for the optical test of Finisar's WSS (Wavelength Selective Switch) products.
Key responsibilities
· Design a versatile and reliable optical test & measurement system for the evaluation of Finisar WSS products
· Implement and automate the proven processes to enhance efficiency in a mass production setting
· Define the specifications and validate the new testing and measurement system, along with the testing methodologies applied for the characterization of Finisar WSS
· Evaluate the accuracy and repeatability of the optical Test & Measurement system
· Conduct routine calibration to maintain the system measurement accuracy and effective maintenance and troubleshooting of the testing equipment
· Identify, develop and track key process metrics to analyse yield and failure modes of WSS products in the pilot production line
· Contribute to the team responsible for transferring the WSS POU level optical test to Finisar's Chinese manufacturing plants once developed
Essential education and experience
· Degree in engineering or physics. Deep understanding of Optical Test & Measurement systems is a must
· More than 5 years' experience in optical field. Exposure in a high technology manufacturing environment is a bonus
· Strong technical ability and fluent communication skills
· Ability to adapt to a fast pace and results driven working environment
Desirable
· Experience in the design of optical test system to characterise opto-electronic devices
· Experience with SPC or data analysis tools
· Willingness to learn, take ownership and grow in a fast-paced engineering setting
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year
