Utilise your deep expertise and specialised skills as a former Combat System Manager or Combat System Supervisor to further your career developing Navy's next generation of maritime warfare combatants as a Senior Instructor of the Navy Synthetic Warfighting Centre (NSWC) supporting, coordinating and executing synthetic warfare training events.
In this role your professional maritime warfare expertise and training experience will supportyour proficiency in simulating roles as surveillance control officers, fighter controllers, air battlespace managers, air combat officers, pilots, tactical coordinator, sensor operators, anti-submarine tactical aircraft controllers, principal warfare officers, submarine warfare officers, intelligence officer and other task group staff.
This is a role where your 10+ years of experience working with Naval Combat Management Systems and your understanding of the Royal Australian Navy's operational structure, capabilities, warfighting principles, and doctrine will come to the fore as you design, develop and deliver advanced tactical training programs to Navy. Your experience with ADF operations and exercise requirements and personal and professional communication skills and ability to collaborate with other Defence agencies will reflect a naval career of being an adept manager of combat system operators. Additional experience as an intelligence coordinator will be highly regarded.

You hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and appreciate opportunities to establish and manage training programs and you enjoy seeing programs designed, developed and delivered while constantly modernising and improving the delivery of synthetic training solutions to meet capability needs.
As Senior Instructor NSWC you will provide high-level training in maritime warfare and tactical operations to the Navy personnel at HMAS Watson. This role involves teaching in a combination of classroom education and advanced synthetic training.
Responsibilities
* Deliver the Advanced Tactical Training program.
* Provide simulator database management, entity building, game design and construct in accordance with client needs, generation of scenario test plans and generation of exercise execution plans.
* Use civilian and military supported databases to develop global threat data specifications, performance and tactics for input into simulator platform databases.
* Assist NSWC client organisations with planning and generating synthetic collective training activities.
* Configure entity and game scenario specifications into simulator databases as prescribed by NSWC client organisations.
* Conduct C4ISR planning, and monitor chat and communications during synthetic events.
* Provide simulation support through emulating actions of aircraft and surface/sub-surface vessels (both allied and OPFOR) in a synthetic simulated environment, acting as 'Simulator Pilots'.
* Support the role of the N3, responsible for running a Task Group HQ. If required, act as the N3.
* Develop global threat data specifications, performance and tactics through ADF and civilian supplied databases, and the data's input into all databases required for a programmed synthetic training activity.
* Generate and maintain standard operating procedures for database configuration and testing.
* Liaise with network agencies, including liaison with uniformed and civilian personnel across all three services and coalition partners.
* Attend planning conferences as required to facilitate and align training aims and capability for events across NSWC, RAN, and ADF.
* Provide recommendations for methods for streamlining procedures and practices undertaken by NSWC.
* Provide mentoring, assessing and instruction.
For major synthetic events (LFE, ATT, SWIPE), fill additional bespoke positions as follows:
* EXCON Director (ED) – Senior EXCON member responsible for coordinating EXCON to design, plan and execute tasks. This position conducts Large Force Exercise project management.
* Battle Management Coordinator (BMC) – Responsible for the planning and management of C4 elements in support of task delivery.
* Intelligence Coordinator (IC) – Responsible for providing intelligence, threat advice and adversary tactics to support task delivery.
* Tactical Coordinator (TC) – Coordinates tactical effects and training aids to support task delivery.
* Operations Coordinator (OPSCO) – Integrates, contributes to and synchronises planning between EXCON and stakeholders to manage effective task delivery.
