Exciting times ahead as we prepare for new ferries coming soon, operating on a 7 days on/ 7 days off schedule. As a Second Engineer with SeaLink-South Australia, you will be responsible for assisting in the safe and secure operations of Company vessels.
About the Role
The Second Engineer plays a vital role in maintaining excellence in safety and reliability at all times, working closely with the Chief Engineer. Interpersonal and organisational skills are essential to this position, along with effective written and verbal communication skills.
* A strong ability to interact with passengers during loading and unloading procedures is required.
* Meet and exceed key performance indicators while displaying high work ethics.
This role demands energy, commitment, initiative, teamwork, multi-skilling, and time management. Training opportunities are available for personal development and upskilling to a Class 3 ticket supported by SeaLink.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
1. MED1 - minimum.
2. Current National Police Clearance.
3. Current First Aid.
4. Sound working knowledge of:
* Oxy-arc welding, mig welding.
* Boiler making.
* AC & DC Electrics.
* Hydraulic systems.
* Practical experience in shipbuilding and repair.
* Working knowledge of OH&S systems and regulations.
* Elements of Shipboard Safety Certificate.
Desirable:
* Trade Certificate.
* Confined Space Certification.
* Working at Heights Certificate.
