Offer description

The Project Engineer plays a key role in delivering NAVIQ's slope-remediation and ground-engineering projects safely, efficiently, and to technical specification. This role combines hands-on site support with strong engineering oversight, including QA, geotechnical verification, documentation control, and stakeholder coordination.

You will work on technically complex projects involving soil nails, anchors, mesh systems, structural shotcrete, erosion control, geohazard stabilisation, and steep-slope drilling.

Project Coordination

Track daily progress against the programme, reporting deviations early to the Project Leader.

Review project scope, specifications, drawings, and geotechnical reports to ensure constructability and compliance.

Prepare weekly CVRs, progress reports, and forecasting inputs.

Technical & Engineering Duties

Provide technical guidance on soil nailing operations, drilling parameters, grout mixes, testing regimes, and installation QA.

Support Structural concrete installations through accurate measurement, verification of substrate prep, product compliance, and curing requirements.

Assist with shotcrete QA, test panels, thickness verification, and core sampling coordination.

Conduct conflict identification and assist the Project Leader to mitigate geotechnical, WHS or program-related risks.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

Maintain project QA documentation, ITPs, checklists, testing records, and hold/witness points.

Ensure compliance with DTMR/TfNSW specifications where applicable.

Review and verify supplier certifications, batch records, and material traceability (nails, grout, concrete, mesh, anchors).

Lead QA close-out for handover packages.

Site Guidance & Supervision Support

Provide daily engineering support to supervisors for drilling, nailing, scaling, FRP application, mesh installation, and access setup.

Verify critical measurements on site (nail inclination, embedment, bond length, FRP lap detailing, fixing patterns).

Assist with Time-in-Motion studies to improve site efficiencies.

Ensure site crews understand engineering requirements, updated drawings, and any design changes.

Stakeholder & Documentation Management

Coordinate with designers, clients, consultants, and suppliers to address technical queries (RFIs).

Review and red-line drawings where design changes occur.

Maintain accurate project documentation registers and ensure timely submissions.

Support procurement of materials and equipment and verify suitability for site conditions.

Safety & WHS

Monitor site WHS metrics, participate in audits, and report hazards or non-conformances.

Contribute to SWMS development, high-risk work reviews, and on-site briefings.

The above list is not exhaustive, and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of the company.
