What you'll do:
Based in the Santos Brisbane office, the primary objective of this position is to deliver PNG Process Engineering's strategic improvement plan and support base business operations. This role includes occasional travel to PNG.
Key accountabilities include:
* Apply expertise to deliver plans aligned with company strategy
* Understand team purpose, roles, and accountabilities
* Demonstrate a change and performance mindset
* Identify opportunities for cost reduction, value creation, and emissions reduction
* Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with company standards, processes, and governance requirements (SMS, DOA, Safety)
* Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff
* Conduct flow assurance and process modelling in collaboration with Development and Onshore Assets/Production Engineering teams
We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer with a strong background in conventional oil and gas. The ideal candidate will have:
* Minimum 10 years' experience in a similar role supporting oil and gas production and processing operations, ideally for remote sites.
* Experience in process design deliverable preparation, review and approval
* Strong experience with hazard study participation and action close‑out (i.e. HAZOP, LOPA and similar)
* Strong background with process modelling software (e.g. UniSim/HYSYS) and Petex GAP or equivalent flow assurance software.
* Troubleshooting and de‑bottlenecking plant and unit operations experience
* Design development and assurance, budget/cost estimation development
* Good knowledge of national (e.g. AS) and international standards (e.g. API, ASME)
* Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical, Process etc.)
* CPEng and/or RPEQ required
