Our strategy is to focus on creating a safe work environment where our employees feel strongly connected to our values and objectives, and where the capability of our people is key to our success.

About the Role

Our purpose is to maintain healthy, high-performing, and highly available mining systems that enable aspirational safety and production targets for Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO) operations.

This mid-level Specialist role is primarily focused on coordinating system maintenance and change activities across multiple product domains, including stakeholder engagement and collaboration with technical subject matter experts (SMEs). The role also provides Level 1 technical support, with a focus on fulfilling incidents and service requests to maintain operational continuity and system reliability. This position offers strong opportunities for skill development and progression within a dynamic, digitally enabled operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Level 1 Technical Support Delivery - Provide first-line technical support via ServiceNow across central Pilbara Mining System service lines. This includes managing incidents and service requests, delivering backfill support across product domains, and contributing to skill development through hands-on operational exposure.
- System Maintenance Coordination - Lead and coordinate system changes and outage activities, including server restarts, patching, cyber vulnerability remediation, and lifecycle planning.
- ServiceNow Operations Management - Manage incidents, problems, and changes in line with service level agreements (SLAs) and ITIL best practices.
- Continuous Improvement - Identify, scope, and implement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Safety and Compliance - Support field leadership, risk management, and ensure systems meet cyber, architecture, and operational standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement - Build strong relationships with internal customers and vendors, applying BHP Operating System principles.

Product Domains Supported

- Komatsu - Dispatch, Frontrunner, Provision, MineCare
- Caterpillar - Fleet, Command, Terrain, Health
- Epiroc - Rig Control System (RCS), Surface Manager
- Safety Systems - Wabtec Collision Awareness System (CAS), Edge Detection System (EDS), Caterpillar Driver Fatigue and Distraction System (DSS)

About You

- You bring practical experience in mine operations and a strong understanding of fleet management systems.
- Proven capability in administering ServiceNow and applying ITIL service management principles.
- A STEM degree is highly desirable, and experience supporting autonomous vehicle systems is considered highly advantageous.
- You're confident managing stakeholders and coordinating with technical SMEs to plan and execute system changes, while also delivering Level 1 technical support across multiple product domains.
- Your proactive approach, technical acumen, and collaborative mindset help maintain reliable, high-performing mining systems that enable safe and effective operations across WAIO.
