About the Client Our client is a well-established and reputable food manufacturing company based in Fairfield East. Known for their high standards, strong culture, and commitment to quality, they are currently seeking a hands-on Mechanical Fitter to join their close-knit maintenance team on a full-time basis. About the Role This position is ideal for a proactive and skilled tradesperson who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. You'll be working alongside a small team of experienced tradespeople and reporting directly to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager. The role focuses on both preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of production equipment in a busy manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct mechanical maintenance, fault finding and repairs on production and site equipment. Assist with breakdown response to minimise downtime and maintain efficiency. Carry out preventative maintenance in accordance with scheduled plans. Perform fitting, assembly, and alignment of mechanical components and systems. Ensure all work complies with relevant safety regulations and site procedures. Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with equipment upgrades or modifications. Maintain accurate service records and contribute to a safe work culture. Ideal Candidate Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter (Australia-recognised). Previous experience in a similar role within FMCG or food manufacturing (highly desirable). Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding ability. Welding and fabrication skills advantageous. Self-motivated, reliable, and a true team player. Must be hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
