Seeking a Scheduler/Administrator for a full-time role in Cairns
Your new company Hays are pleased to partner with a long-standing, family-owned Australian manufacturer with nearly five decades of industry expertise, with multiple sites across the East Coast. We are currently seeking a permanent full-time Scheduler to join the Cairns Branch on a permanent full-time basis.
Are you someone who enjoys coordinating moving parts, building strong relationships, and keeping operations flowing smoothly? This is your chance to become the key connection point in a well‐established Australian manufacturing business that supplies quality, made‐to‐order products to the building and construction sector.
If you're organised, proactive, and confident when speaking with customers and suppliers, this role offers the stability, growth and impact you've been looking for.
Your new role
As the Scheduler, you will be the face of the company, managing timelines, coordinating materials, and keeping customers informed at every stage. You'll work closely with suppliers, sales teams, production, and admin to make sure every order moves seamlessly through the manufacturing process. This role suits someone who enjoys a busy environment, takes pride in accuracy, and can balance multiple priorities without losing sight of the details.
Key Responsibilities –
1. Scheduling jobs in line with customer expectations and factory capacity
2. Acting as the key liaison for customers, providing updates and managing timelines
3. Maintaining accurate job lists, documents, and scheduling systems
4. Coordinating with suppliers to ensure materials arrive on time
5. Working alongside Sales to support order processing and information flow
6. Sharing timely updates with internal stakeholders, including production and admin
7. Supporting credit and documentation requirements as needed
8. Identifying process improvements and contributing to a high-performing team
9. Growing your understanding of the company's product range and industry standards
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, you'll bring:
10. Experience in scheduling, coordination, administration, or customer service
11. A proactive, solutions-focused approach to managing daily tasks
12. Strong communication skills and confidence in dealing with customers and suppliers
13. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
14. The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
15. Full Australian work rights
16. A psychometric testing exam and a pre-employment medical exam are required for this role.
If you have experience in manufacturing, logistics, production, building, or trades administration, that's a bonus, but not essential. You don't need industry experience, just the right capability and willingness to learn.
What you'll get in return
17. A stable, long-term opportunity within a respected national group
18. Supportive leaders who value development and internal growth
19. A positive workplace culture with genuine collaboration
20. Ongoing training and career pathways across the broader group
21. Attractive Salary + Super
22. Employee perks and product discounts
23. 17.5% Annual Leave Loading
24. Growth opportunities
