Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Visiting Medical Officer in Cardiology to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
We are looking for a Visiting Medical Officer in Cardiology. The primary purpose of the role of Visiting Medical Officer in Cardiology (Aortic Disease Service) is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Cardiology and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Cardiology Department, Aortic Disease Service and Hospital as required.
The Visiting Medical Officer will care to patients in the Marfan Aortic Clinic at the Sydney Heart Centre, including reviewing and reporting echocardiograms for patients in the clinic, as well as providing assessment and clinical management of patients affected by aortic disease. The position works in collaboration with clinical geneticists and other members of the RPAH Aortic Multidisciplinary Team, including cardiac and vascular surgeons and radiologists, to provide comprehensive and personalised care to patients living with complex aortic conditions.
The Visiting Medical Officer will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
Medical practitioner, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with recognised qualifications in Cardiology and/or other equivalent specialist recognition.
Position is currently available. In addition, applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from date of application, may be considered.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Public Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer Determination.
