In- House Lawyer – Part Time (3 days per week)

The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced In-House Lawyer to join our Legal team and support the organisation with high‑quality, practical and solutions‑focused legal advice. Reporting to the Chief Legal Counsel, this role plays a key part in managing legal risk, supporting compliance, and enabling sound strategic decision‑making across the business.
This is a varied and hands‑on role, ideal for a lawyer who enjoys working closely with stakeholders, managing a diverse legal portfolio and contributing to a values‑driven organisation within the healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities
Provide timely, accurate and commercially practical legal advice to internal stakeholders
Independently manage a portfolio of legal matters across contracts, compliance, disputes and advisory work
Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of legal documents including contracts, correspondence, briefs and advisory papers
Conduct legal research and analysis to identify risks and recommend solutions
Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to healthcare and aged care
Support organisational governance, policy development and compliance frameworks
Manage and liaise with external legal providers under the direction of the Chief Legal Officer
Prepare and contribute to legal reporting and case tracking
Foster strong working relationships across the organisation and deliver exceptional internal customer service
About You You are a professional, proactive and commercially minded lawyer who brings strong judgement, attention to detail and excellent communication skills. You are comfortable working autonomously while collaborating effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
You Will Bring
Between 2 to 5 years experience working in a legal environment (in‑house or private practice)
Strong legal research, drafting and analytical capability
Sound knowledge of legal frameworks and regulatory environments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly
Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
High standards of integrity, professionalism and ethical conduct
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal practice management systems
A client‑service mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
Experience in healthcare, aged care or a regulated industry will be highly regarded.
