Cyber Security Engineer Job Description
As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will work on-site to support Defence customers and deployed ICT teams. Your primary responsibility is to ensure systems are secure, maintained, and available.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and Troubleshoot Security Technologies: You will assist in troubleshooting security technologies including vulnerability scanners, SIEMs, firewalls, proxies, and endpoint protection tools.
* Cyber Incident Investigations: You will help with cyber incident investigations by collecting logs, reviewing firewall rules, and supporting related activities.
* Network Change Monitoring: You will monitor network changes and assess potential impacts on cyber security posture.
* Vulnerability Management: You will contribute to vulnerability management, including configuration reviews and tracking software versions.
* New Technology Deployment: You will support the deployment, integration, and testing of new technologies for ADF customers.
Qualifications and Experience
* Enterprise IT Experience: You should have 3–5 years' experience in enterprise IT system administration or a related role, with a solid understanding of enterprise IT environments.
* Troubleshooting Skills: You should possess strong troubleshooting skills in complex networked systems.
* Cyber Security Knowledge: You should have working knowledge of cyber security principles, including system hardening techniques and standards.
* Operating System Experience: You should have hands-on experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
* Security Tools Familiarity: You should be familiar with security tools such as SIEMs, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners, proxies, and firewalls. Experience with tools like ForeScout, Cisco Firewalls, Splunk, Tenable Nessus, or Trellix is highly regarded.
