Freight Forwarding Role

This is a customer-focused service role where you will be responsible for servicing key accounts from start to finish. Your exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate effectively will ensure that all client requirements are met with precision and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Account Management: Service key client accounts from initial order through to final delivery, acting as the dedicated point of contact at every stage.
* Order Coordination: Receive, check, and process client orders, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
* Proactive Communication: Regularly update clients on their shipment status, anticipated delivery times, and any potential delays, building trust and transparency.
* Liaison with Overseas Partners: Coordinate with overseas suppliers, offices, and agents to manage shipments, track progress, and resolve any issues as they arise.
* Shipping Schedules: Prepare and maintain detailed shipping schedules, ensuring all parties are informed and aligned.
* Shipment Tracking: Maintain up-to-date client shipment reports, utilising both internal tracking system and Cargo Wise software.
* Rate Management: Update and communicate current freight rates to clients, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
* Invoicing: Prepare and process invoices for consignments, ensuring all documentation is accurate and delivered in a timely manner.
* Cartage Organisation: Arrange delivery for both FCL (Full Container Load) and LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments, liaising with carriers and clients to schedule timely deliveries.
* Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored logistics solutions.
* Problem Solving: Tackle issues head-on with a proactive mindset, thinking on your feet to provide swift and effective solutions.
* Confidentiality: Handle all client and company information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
Daily Duties
* Receiving, checking, and processing client orders with precision
* Providing proactive updates and regular phone contact with clients
* Liaising with overseas offices, agents, and shipping lines
* Preparing and maintaining shipping schedules and client shipment reports for key accounts
* Updating clients on current freight rates
* Invoicing consignments swiftly and accurately
* Coordinating delivery of shipments (FCL and LCL)
* Utilising Cargo Wise and internal tracking systems to monitor and report on shipment progress
Requirements and Qualifications
To excel in this role, you will possess:
* Experience: 2–10 years of freight forwarding experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a customer service role within the industry (this is essential).
* Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to order processing, documentation, and communication.
* Communication Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate information to clients, colleagues, and overseas agents.
* Organisational Ability: Exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple accounts and competing priorities efficiently.
* Client Focus: A customer-centric mindset, always striving to deliver the best possible service and solutions.
* Relationship Building: Proven ability to develop rapport and maintain long-term client partnerships.
* Problem Solving: Confidence to make decisions, resolve challenges, and think quickly on your feet.
* Technical Proficiency: Competence with logistics tracking systems; Cargo Wise experience is highly advantageous.
