Job Opportunity – Heavy Diesel Fitter (Mining) | Mackay, QLD
We are seeking highly experienced Heavy Diesel Fitters with mining experience for multiple full-time, on-site positions in Mackay, QLD. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of Caterpillar and Komatsu haul trucks and ancillary heavy mobile mining equipment in a Tier 1 workshop equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy mining equipment.
* Conduct preventive maintenance to optimize equipment performance.
* Identify and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
* Work both independently and within a team to minimize equipment downtime.
Requirements:
* Trade qualification in Diesel Mechanics or a related field.
* Extensive experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repairs.
* Minimum 5 years of experience working on mining equipment (HME), including CAT, Liebherr, and Komatsu .
* Strong knowledge of diesel mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
* Ability to conduct preventive maintenance and detect potential failures.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
* Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
