About the Opportunity
The Senior Learning Designer sits within the School of Business and Law's Teaching and Learning portfolio, reporting to the Associate Dean, Teaching and Learning. The role leads curriculum design activity within the School, with a particular focus on supporting SBL's transition to programmatic learning as part of ECU's Curriculum Transformation Program (CTP).
Responsibilities
Day to day, this involves working with academic staff to improve curriculum alignment and coherence across programs, identifying gaps, and ensuring learning outcomes are well‐mapped at the program level. A key part of this work is the design of assessment that is intentionally aligned to learning outcomes, reflects contemporary practice, and contributes to a coherent student experience across the program. The role also supports the School's AACSB accreditation obligations through assurance of learning design, and provides guidance on learning technologies and contemporary pedagogical practice. The Senior Learning Designer represents the School on relevant university committees and liaises with the Centre for Learning and Teaching as needed.
Qualifications
You have solid experience in learning design within a tertiary context, with a good working knowledge of programmatic curriculum principles and how to apply them in practice. A postgraduate qualification in Education or a related field is expected, along with a track record of developing quality learning experiences across different delivery modes. You're comfortable working alongside academic staff in an advisory capacity, can manage a varied workload, and communicate clearly with people at different levels. Familiarity with AACSB accreditation or assurance of learning frameworks would be an advantage.
