Position Title: Social Worker (Level 1/ - The Forensic Hospital - TFT up to 12 months (Maternity Leave cover)

Essential requirements:
* A degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* Ability to provide therapeutic interventions for individuals/groups and families and a commitment to evidence-based practice in a mental health setting.
The Role
The primary focus of this position is to provide a comprehensive evidenced informed social work service to patients and their family/carers. This includes the provision of psychosocial assessments, counselling/family work/ therapy and advocacy to ensure optimal social outcomes. The service includes individual, family, group work and program development. The social work is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team.
Our Location, Team, and Service
The Forensic Hospital is a high-secure forensic mental health facility in New South Wales, operated by Justice Health NSW. This facility provides specialist, therapeutic inpatient care for adults and adolescent forensic, correctional, and high-risk civil patients.
A multidisciplinary team of medical, nursing, and allied health professionals provide care across the clinical spectrum, from high dependency and acute care, to long stay and rehabilitation care.
While working at the Forensic Hospital, you will develop strong professional connections with colleagues and making a positive contribution to vulnerable people. A mandatory and comprehensive two-week, full-time orientation is provided. All days are paid. The next intake dates are on 23 March and 18 May 2026.
