We're partnering with a large Australian organisation modernising its enterprise systems and integration landscape. With core platforms already in place, the focus is now on end-to-end system uplift, scalability, automation and building a more resilient, cloud-native architecture.
We're looking for a strong senior backend engineer who can take ownership of complex systems, drive integration across multiple platforms, and improve how systems are designed, connected and operated at scale. This role is less about any single platform, and more about engineering high-quality, maintainable and well-architected systems across the business.
This role will play a key part in connecting core platforms (including CRM/SaaS systems like Salesforce) and evolving the broader ecosystem toward a more automated, self-sufficient and scalable environment.
What you'll be doing
* Build and enhance integrations across CRM, SaaS and internal platforms
* Design and implement API-first solutions to connect systems and enable seamless data flow
* Take ownership of end-to-end system uplift, improving scalability, performance and reliability
* Drive automation of business processes, reducing manual intervention through engineering solutions
* Design system architecture and define how platforms are structured and interact
* Improve monitoring, observability and system resilience (self-healing, self-testing where possible)
* Contribute to cloud-native evolution, including migration and modernisation initiatives
* Provide production support and drive continuous improvement
Must-have experience
* Strong backend software engineering background (.Net/C#)
* Proven experience integrating systems, particularly CRM or SaaS platforms (Salesforce or similar)
* Experience owning and uplifting systems end-to-end, not just contributing features
* Strong understanding of system design, architecture and scalable patterns
* Experience automating business processes and removing manual workflows
* Experience building reliable, production-grade systems with monitoring and support in place
* Experience working in complex enterprise environments
Highly regarded
* Exposure to event-driven systems, microservices or distributed architectures
* Experience with observability, monitoring and automation tooling
* Background in regulated environments (insurance, banking, utilities, telco or similar)
