**About you**:
Peel Home and Community Supports Inc is looking for great support workers who care for and engage with people with a disability. You will need to be available to work weekends and public holidays.
If you have a love for helping people, an understanding of and a commitment to promoting and upholding the human rights of people with disability in order to support them in making their own decisions and hold industry experience, we would love to have a conversation with you
**About your experience**:
- Experience in providing support for people with disability and/or people with behaviours of concern
- Industry experience
- Experience working within a team and working with people with a disability
- Understanding and demonstrable ability to support clients with complex needs
- Manual handling
- Infection control and hygiene principles
**Qualifications, Licenses, Certificates and Requirements**:
- Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
- NDIS Workers Screen Check
- Working with Children's Check
- WA Drivers Licence
- Registered vehicle with car insurance
- First Aid Certificate - willing to obtain
- Manual Handling Certificate
- Police Clearance
**About the role**:
Key roles and responsibilities of the position are, but not limited to:
- Ensuring people with disability have choice and make decisions about their lives, including choices about the services they receive
- Providing supports which are culturally secure for people from diverse backgrounds
- Providing a range of supports as per the person's support plan, risk management plan and NDIS plan. Supports may include, but are not limited to:
- personal and intimate care, such as showering and toileting;
- meal preparation and cooking; and
- general household tasks, such as cleaning.
- Supporting people with disability to connect to relevant services and networks, such as health, mental health, social and community groups, recreational groups and other community sector and disability services
- Monitoring the safety and wellbeing of individuals and reporting any concerns to the supervisor
- Ensuring work practices are in accordance with all Company policies and procedures and the NDIS Code of Conduct
- Working in collaboration with people with disability, families and significant others, colleagues, management, and external stakeholders to support people with disability to meet their goals
- Completing documentation, such as shift notes and incident reports, as required
- Participating in staff meetings, supervision, training and development, as required
