The roleContribute to the strategic direction, imperatives, and actions of Retrieval Services Queensland (RSQ). You will shape clinical and corporate governance as well as provide the coordination of service delivery, human and material management, expertise in health care team communication and highly developed data analysis and fiscal management. As a result, delivering safe, quality, effective and efficient healthcare provision, with a focus on the Telehealth and Virtual Care environments.
A successful applicant will demonstrate advanced senior nursing and midwifery leadership experience across Hospital and Health Services (HHS) and Department of Health environments.
This role is required to partner with key internal and external to integrate all aspects of telehealth and virtual care service delivery, including development of operational plans, performance and development, oversight of and service model review in a multi-disciplinary environment.
This role will have direct nursing reports from across RSQ's Telehealth stream and travel around the state is an expected component of this role (when required).
Retrieval Services Queensland operates from Kedron, Chermside, Brisbane City and Townsville. This role operates principally from Kedron, in times of operational need, working from other locations may be required.

- Demonstrates and applies advanced skills and knowledge in the areas of business analysis, data extraction, clinical practice change and supporting clinicians.
- Experience in generating reports, data management and dashboard utilisation.
- Demonstrates advanced problem solving and expert clinical judgement in the provision of innovative practice with a focus on telehealth, virtual care and aeromedical retrieval services.
- Facilitates and creates current evidence-based research and continuously evaluates and improves educational product and programs.
- Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and demonstrates high level communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
About usRSQ Telehealth service centrally coordinates unscheduled, lower acuity telehealth support for rural and remote clinicians by linking with clinically appropriate service providers. RSQ Telehealth complements the existing RSQ retrieval telehealth support for critically ill and injured patients with Emergency Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and expert Clinical nursing and midwifery advice.
RSQ Telehealth improves access to specialist clinical services and advice, supporting presentations across rural and remote communities based on locally agreed processes. This advice ensures early appropriate clinical intervention, increase local clinical capacity, expediate transfer decisions, identify and manage patient deterioration, and improve patient experience.
