Ensuring the highest quality in road construction is paramount to public safety and infrastructure integrity. We are seeking experienced civil road inspectors to join our team in the Toowoomba / Darling Downs region.
Job Description:
The primary role of a civil road inspector involves conducting thorough site inspections to verify compliance with transport and main roads' (TMR) quality specifications and standards.
Key responsibilities include:
* Utilizing comprehensive knowledge of TMR policies, standards, and specifications to read, understand, and interpret technical documents and standards.
* Preparing written documents including daily diaries, submissions/reports, and test results.
* Communicating effectively with contractors and/or contract administrators, senior engineers, or principal representatives to keep them informed of progress and quality of works.
* Providing effective administration, surveillance, and recording of documentation generated during the construction including photos.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required skills and qualifications for this role include:
* Minimum 5-10 years' extensive practical experience as a labourer, foreman, &/or supervisor in road construction.
* At least 1-2 years' experience as an Asphalt or Civil Inspector working for preferably TMR or any Australian Road Authority.
* Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, file management, smartphone, camera, and email.
* Must have a driver's license and have access to own transport to/from home to the Toowoomba Office and out to site.
* Preference for own laptop and mobile phone.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
