Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement operations across Australia and Recent Zealand. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Villawood, NSW. Please note: this is an in office role - no work‑from‑home option.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a team of 8 and manage procurement strategies for both local and international suppliers. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong commercial acumen, process‑driven thinking, and exceptional negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement & Sourcing: Develop and execute procurement strategies for local and overseas suppliers, ensuring cost efficiency and quality.
Leadership & Team Development: Mentor and lead a high‑performing team, setting explicit KPIs and fostering collaboration.
Supplier & Contract Management: Negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and monitor performance.
Operational Excellence: Align procurement with business needs, oversee inventory planning, and drive process improvements.
What We’re Looking For
Proven stability in previous roles with experience in wholesale, multi‑branch, or warehouse operations.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams.
Background in financial management or business economics.
Hands‑on approach with clear communication skills.
Ideally from automotive or similar industries.
Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
Knowledge of international trade regulations and logistics.
