Heavy Vehicle Fitter – Mobile Plant Team, Ballarat Gold Mine
Reports to: Mobile Plant Leading Hands
Location: Ballarat, Victoria
Roster: 7:7 rotating rosters, Wednesdays to Tuesdays
Hours: 12‐hour shifts (7:00‐7:00 day; 7:00‐7:00 night)
Responsibilities
* Undertake scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance of the company's heavy vehicle fleet, including Sandvik, Cat, Normet and Volvo vehicles and equipment.
* Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns and undertake quality repairs in a timely manner.
* Service and preventative maintenance on Jumbos, Loaders and Trucks.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot faults, recommending servicing interventions that improve the operational efficiency of the company's heavy vehicle fleet.
* Rectify machinery breakdowns in an underground environment promptly and undertake quality repairs.
* Ensure completion of all shift paperwork including service sheets, work orders and daily shift reports.
* Complete all JSA's, risk assessments and documentation to ensure all work is completed safely and as per schedule.
Qualifications
* Relevant mechanical Trade certificates.
* Previous experience working with mining or heavy earth moving machinery, Volvo & Detroit engines.
* Ability to commit to a continuous 7/7 rotating roster, day and night.
* Ability to work underground on 12‐hour shifts.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment.
* Commitment to a respectful and cooperative work environment in line with company policies and expectations.
Preferred
* Previous experience in the mining industry (highly desirable).
* Other relevant backgrounds including heavy earth machinery and agriculture.
* Experience in parts ordering using an ERP system (e.g., Pronto).
