About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Support Worker to assist a client living with a spinal cord injury in Cessnock. The client requires full support with all personal care tasks, including bowel care, manual handling, and other daily living supports.
This position begins with a regular Wednesday shift (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM), with the goal of expanding to daily supports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full personal care including showering, grooming, and toileting
- Bowel care (training provided if required)
- Manual handling and transfers (hoist experience preferred)
- Light domestic assistance
- Supporting the client’s independence, dignity, and overall wellbeing
Pay Rates – SCHADS Award E3.1 (Casual In-Home and SIL):
Base hourly rate: $35.15
Afternoon shift (ends between 8 PM – midnight, Monday to Friday): $38.67
Active night shift (finishes after midnight or starts before 6 AM, Monday to Friday): $39.37
Saturday: $49.21
Sunday: $63.27
Public holiday: $77.33
All rates are before tax.
Requirements:
- Genuine, caring, and respectful approach
- Experience with personal care and manual handling
- Willingness to undertake bowel care training (if not already trained)
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support or equivalent
