EI&C Construction Manager at UGL
Location: Australia – Tasmania – Hobart
Work type: Full‑time
Overview
The role is part of the TasWater Capital Delivery Office (CDO) leading a large capital program. The CDO will build capacity to deliver an accelerated capital program of works, with economic and safety benefits and transition the program back to TasWater post‑completion. You will lead a diverse and high‑performing team, managing on‑site Electrical, Instrumentation and Control construction and energisation activities.
Project: Selfs Point Sewer Transformation Project – a significant project delivering a new wastewater treatment plant and associated infrastructure across a 4.3 km pipeline.
Accountabilities
* Lead and coordinate delivery by key subcontractors across LV, HV, fire and security systems.
* Plan and align all electrical construction activities with the project master program.
* Manage technical and logistical interfaces between civil, mechanical and electrical disciplines.
* Oversee electrical completions, testing and system handover documentation.
* Manage HV/LV energisation planning, testing and execution.
* Administer permit‑to‑work, isolation and switching processes.
* Drive strong HSE performance and ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
Minimum Requirements
* Extensive work in Construction Management (or similar level), preferably in multi‑discipline complex infrastructure projects.
* Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or relevant tertiary qualification (TAFE or similar).
* Experience in managing multiple electrical contractors concurrently.
* Experience in brown‑field water and wastewater electrical & SCADA works (desirable).
* Experience in the planning/sequencing and execution of electrical works on a multidisciplinary site.
