Midwifery Unit Manager | Permanent Full-Time | Weipa
Come back to what midwifery is really about!
There comes a point in many careers where you start asking yourself...when did things get so busy that we lost the heart of why we became midwives?
If you're craving a return to grassroots midwifery, meaningful relationships with women and families, and the chance to lead a service that truly makes a valuable contribution in community health - this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
Professional and personal qualities
We are looking for a vibrant, down-to-earth and innovative Midwifery Unit Manager to lead our maternity service in Weipa, on the western side of Cape York. This is a role for someone who believes midwifery is more than a job - it's a calling to walk alongside women, families and community during one of life's most important moments.
A genuine passion for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and cultural respect will be central to how you lead and shape the service.
We're searching for someone who is:
A passionate and experienced midwife leader
Innovative and solutions-focused
Warm, grounded and community minded
Committed to improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander maternal health outcomes
A mentor who lifts others up and builds strong teams
Most importantly, we want someone who still believes in the heart of midwifery.
We know relocating or stepping into a new leadership role is a big decision. If this role speaks to you but you're unsure about committing long-term, let's have a yarn. Samantha Swanson, 0461 280 617 would love to hear from you....sometimes the best opportunities start with a simple good old conversation.
