As an SEO Reporter for Sky News, you will have the freedom to explore trending topics and create the content people are looking for. You will use your news instincts to write articles and create evergreen content to grow our audiences and reach new readers through search and social.
What you'll do:
- Pitch and write stories for search
- Come up with ideas for evergreen content
- Plan content stacks for upcoming news events
- Write breakout pieces to accompany big news stories
- Write articles that will engage our social audiences
- Be able to produce accurate copy quickly
- Bring new ideas on how to reach younger readers
- Have excellent communication and people skills
What you'll bring:
- First class writing skills, sound news judgement and a great instinct for what does well on search
- A track record of jumping on trends early and creating relevant content
- An excellent knowledge of SEO, Google, Google trends, content discovery and social media
- Digital/online journalistic experience with a national news publisher
- A keenness to learn what works by monitoring performance of your stories
- The right to work in the UK
