 
        
        _Anderlea Pork is a family owned and operated pork production business located in the South Burnett, Queensland. _ 
- We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated team member to fill a pig farmer position. _ 
- **Main Duties/Responsibilities**:_ 
- Assist in the running of site including organising and conducting all necessary farming operations. 
- _Assist in running of the site and facilities in terms of the required human resources, physical resources, safety requirements, consumables, documentation and measurement devices._ 
- _Assist in maximising the incoming, outgoing and internal flow/logistics requirements of the farm (finishing stage uses liquid feed system) including organisation of the selection and transportation of livestock. _ 
- _Report to and liaise with the farm manager regarding farm operations, staff operations and site works delivery. _ 
- _Plan, organise, control, coordinate and perform farming operations to raise livestock. _ 
- _Under guidance from the farm manager, monitor and optimise herd health, condition and performance of livestock. _ 
- _Assist in general farming activities such as maintenance, machinery, water systems, pens, sheds, pest control activities etc. _ 
- _Assist in maintenance and compliance of the Company Quality Assurance program for the site ensuring that all relevant documentation is kept current._ 
- _Assist in supervision of data collection and recording so information is accurate to aid stock and inventory control._ 
- _Undertake specific tasks assigned by management to ensure that environmental, quality and safety goals are met._ 
- _Select breeding stock and/or pigs for sale._ 
- _Supervise and participate in daily inspection of livestock, such that the animals are appropriately fed, watered, environmental parameters are fulfilled. You may also be required to work with and supervise any less experienced stockperson._ 
- _Participate in daily inspection of livestock, ensuring compromised animals are individually assessed, identified, treated and record in accordance with the Herd Health Plan and the industry's Model Code of Practice._ 
- _Euthanise sick or injured stock in a humane manner and in accordance with the Model Code of Practice for the Welfare of Animals: Pigs._ 
- _Manage the mating of animals via individually supervised natural mating or through artificial insemination._ 
- _Supervise the birthing process, including the ability to physically conduct unsupervised internal assessments during parturition to minimise mortality rates._ 
- _Participate in industry training sessions and workshops as required._ 
- _Perform any other duty as required by your manager. _

- _Previous piggery experience._

- _Willingness to work a 1 in every 3-weekend roster. _

- _Physically fit - labouring required and physically demanding tasks._ 
- _Current Australian C class Driver's Licence_ 
- _Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Certificate III in Agriculture (Pig Production), OR equivalent qualifications + 3 years of recent and relevant work experience, OR 5 years of recent and relevant work experience._

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
