Industrial Designer - Brand Activation
IVE Brand Activations is seeking an Industrial Designer with experience across concept development and technical design, ideally within Retail POS design, events, exhibitions or brand activations. This role is suited to a designer who enjoys working across the full design lifecycle - from early ideas and visualisation through to production-ready documentation.
Why This Role Exists
Our bread and butter is retail, but as our activation and events work has grown in complexity, we’ve seen strong value in designers who can move between creative concepting and detailed design, helping improve continuity, efficiency and production outcomes. This role complements our existing concept and detail specialists and strengthens collaboration across design, sales and production.
What Success Looks Like
Delivers clear, well-resolved concepts aligned to client briefsProduces accurate drawings and documentation suitable for fabricationDesigns with awareness of materials, budgets, manufacturing and installation constraintsCollaborates effectively with production and project teams to reduce rework
Technical Capability
High proficiency in 3D design tools (SolidWorks, SketchUp, Revit, Keyshot or similar)Strong detailing capability for fabrication-ready documentationProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)Solid understanding of materials, finishes, manufacturing methods and assembly
Experience & Mindset
Tertiary qualification in Industrial Design or related disciplineExperience working in a production-led, fast-paced environmentCommercially aware - designs with budget, timeline and feasibility in mindCalm under pressure, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple projectsCollaborative, pragmatic and solutions-focusedExperience in exhibitions, events, retail activations or related environments
