IT Field Services Technician – Job Description

1. Support end-user computing infrastructure including, but not limited to:

- Desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, Skype/MS Teams telephony, end-user peripherals, and other devices that become available in the marketplace to enable similar capabilities.

2. Provide hands-on support for issues related to Wintel, networking, storage, audio-visual systems, video conferencing facilities, and other emerging technologies.

3. Coordinate activities with suppliers to resolve incidents or service requests.

4. Support controlled shutdown procedures and activities affecting computer rooms.

5. Assist with support for network-attached printers and multi-function devices (MFDs).

6. Assist end users with configuration of current MFDs or additional printing peripherals.

7. Facilitate access for authorized external personnel to restricted site computer rooms.

8. Perform on-site activities, including scheduled recurring tasks such as:

- Conducting physical and environmental checks of computer or server rooms.
- Rebooting or power cycling devices.
- Providing IT support escort or onsite assistance for incident diagnosis or service requests.
- Providing hardware and software break-fix support for desktops and laptops.
- Diagnosing and correcting malfunctions of equipment.
- Supporting desktop software and hardware components, including operating systems.
- Resolving second-line incidents for desktop applications, operating systems, Microsoft Office, email, and internet issues.
- Performing hardware troubleshooting, component swaps, and working with maintenance services.
- Providing limited printer support, such as clearing paper jams and replacing consumables.
- Diagnosing and resolving software failures.
- Supporting software components and drivers for peripherals.
- Building relationships with site users and engaging with critical users periodically.
- Identifying incidents requiring escalation and following escalation procedures.
- Carrying devices for replacements with guidance from the support team.
- Carrying valid ID and completing site inductions as required.
- Maintaining vehicle safety, including cleaning windshields.
- Contributing to safety initiatives, including safety discussions and directives.
- Performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean workspace.
- Driving manual transmission vehicles with a valid license to support site movement.
- Working outside regular hours, including weekends and public holidays, for high-priority incidents or requests.
