We seek a Battery Master with experience in common battery chemistries across 12V~48V and High
Voltages, but also someone who is ready for a career challenge and excited to be part of the sodium-ion revolution.
A passion for learning and the flexibility to coordinate with our factory engineering team while and delivering regional technical support. You will have application variety in the Automotive, Residential and Commercial & Industrial Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) markets.
This role is responsible for delivering solutions for customers, high-quality technical support to installers, distributors, and occasionally end users. It includes working with the sales and other support teams to deliver customer satisfaction, product knowledge, commissioning assistance, product training, and field issue resolution across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.
The successful candidate will also have the capability to develop management processes while willing to work as part of a highly motivated global organisation.
Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support & Field Assistance
* Provide remote and on-site technical support for residential and commercial energy storage systems.
* Support BESS system commissioning, configuration, firmware updates, and diagnostics.
* Troubleshoot battery systems, BMS, inverters, and communication interfaces (e.g., CAN, RS485, Modbus).
* Manage customer expectations and satisfaction with the sales and support team
* Work with global engineering teams to solve complex technical issues and track resolution.
* Develop knowledge in sodium-ion batteries (including start-stop systems).
* Support technical inquiries for automotive battery applications as required.
* Participate in technical training and product development initiatives.
* Provide technical guidance to distributors, installers and EPC partners.
* Conduct product training sessions and technical workshops.
* Prepare and maintain technical documentation, installation guides, and troubleshooting materials.Support warranty claims, RMA processes, and product performance assessments.
Compliance & Safety
* Ensure all support activities align with Australian standards and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain awareness of relevant standards such as:
* AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules)
* AS/NZS 5139 (Battery Storage Systems)
* IEC61000, IEC62619
* UN38.3
* CE-EMC
* Comply with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) regulations.
* Participate in product compliance testing and certification processes where required.
Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Power Electronics, Automotive Engineering, or related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years experience in one or more of the following:
* Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
* Lithium battery systems
* Power electronics or inverter and charging systems
* Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and if Mandarin.
* Full Australian working rights.
* Experience working with Australian solar installers or energy system integrators.
* Knowledge of Australian electrical standards and grid requirements.
* Experience with automotive lithium batteries or 12V systems.
* White Card or relevant electrical safety training.
* Valid Passport
