About the Role
You will partner with project, development, and operations teams to deliver proactive legal support across the full project lifecycle. This includes structuring and financing bids, drafting and negotiating complex contracts (D&C, EPC, ECI, O&M, JV/consortium, supply and subcontract agreements), and advising on issues such as delays, variations, compliance, and dispute avoidance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Provide practical, timely legal advice and documentation.
* Lead contract drafting, review, and negotiation for complex infrastructure projects.
* Collaborate with tender, project, and contract administration teams.
* Ensure compliance with construction, environmental, WHS, and industry regulations.
* Develop governance frameworks, policies, and training programs.
* Identify and mitigate commercial and legal risks.
* Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, subcontractors, financiers, and external counsel.
* Maintain expertise in construction, environmental, consumer and competition law.
About You
With a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctorate degree, you have a minimum of 8-10 years post admission experience within a commercial legal practice or as part of an in-house team in the infrastructure sector. You have extensive knowledge in construction law including various forms of construction and project delivery contracts (JV’s Alliances, Consortiums) as well as Operations & Maintenance agreements.
In addition, you understand project risk management, operational compliance and claims processes in a construction setting, coupled with exposure to large scale high value complex infrastructure projects. You bring advanced influencing, negotiating and outstanding interpersonal skills as you collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
You take a proactive approach to problem solving and oeprat5e with a high level of integrity and ethical judgment. You take a commercial approach in aligning legal advice with business objectives.
