Financial Controller
We are seeking a highly capable Financial Controller to lead our finance operations and ensure the financial engine of the business runs accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance from our Waroona, Western Australia office.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a technically strong finance professional who enjoys driving improvement and supporting decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and review accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
* Payroll Tax, Super, BAS, GST and FBT submissions and liaise with auditors and regulators
* Using MYOB to oversee the day-to-day financial bookkeeping of the company.
* Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
* Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
* Manage cash flow and financial planning to support business objectives.
* Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making processes.
* Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency.
* Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders, including Directors.
* Manage Accounts Payable, Receivable and Payroll function.
Relationships
* Working closely with operational managers
* Working closely with HR regarding payroll and performance budgets
* Guiding and strengthening a small accounts team
* Implement and maintain strong internal financial controls and governance frameworks
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
* Oversee banking relationships, debt facilities, and investment activities
* Ensure financial stability and proactive risk management
Systems & Process Improvement
* Drive continuous improvement across finance processes and workflows
* Implement and manage financial systems, including ERP, payroll, and reporting tools
* Ensure data integrity and process efficiency
Audit & Risk Management
* Coordinate internal and external audits
* Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks
* Resolve discrepancies and ensure timely, accurate reporting
About You
You are a confident finance leader with strong technical expertise and a collaborative leadership style. You thrive in environments where accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement matter.
You will bring:
* CA or CPA qualification.
* MYOB system proficiency
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including familiarity with complex functions and features.
* Experience with ERP systems, financial modelling and data analysis tools
* Exceptional organisation and analytical thinking.
* Ability to perform well under pressure and adapt to new challenges.
* Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, including team leadership and support.
* Initiative to seek and implement operational improvements.
* Capable of independent work and effective self-management.
* Extensive knowledge of financial reporting and compliance standards.
* Proven experience in financial reporting, compliance, and audit management
