Our client is a leading broadcaster seeking an EXPERIENCED Payroll Officer to join their team, initially on a Temporary (Full Time) basis, with the potential to transition to a Permanent Full Time contract.
This role involves collaborating with internal teams and an outsourced payroll provider, offering advice on employee entitlements, legislation, and company policies, while delivering high-level customer service.
Responsibilities
1. Maintain and update employee records in the payroll system to ensure accurate salary and entitlement payments.
2. Process roster changes, payroll adjustments, and termination payments.
3. Conduct payroll checks and ensure compliance with policies and relevant agreements.
4. Advise managers and employees on matters related to rostering, superannuation, entitlements, and payroll legislation.
5. Support HR business partners with payroll calculations and queries, including allowances and redundancies.
6. Ensure timely and compliant superannuation contributions.
7. Participate in payroll-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Adhere to workplace health and safety (WHS) responsibilities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll operations within a complex and dynamic environment, servicing over 1000 employees. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, and experience with Aurion or Chris21 payroll systems is advantageous. The candidate should demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and a commitment to workplace safety, diversity, and organizational values.
