Barwon Health is the largest health service in regional Victoria and based in Geelong, it is within commuting range from the west side of Melbourne. With approximately 7,000 employees, 22 sites and a broad range of services, Barwon Health plays a key role in the health and wellbeing of our local community and the Barwon South Western region.

Barwon Health, Central Resource Unit (CRU) provides emergent and non-emergent nursing staff replacement for all bed based services. We provide staffing resources to meet every day operational needs of clinical units for nursing and support staff for bed based units across Barwon Health.

**About the Role**

The After Hours Hospital Manager is a senior nursing management role responsible for managing patient flow systems, monitoring performance and effective staff allocation out of hours.

Duties of this role include but are not limited to:

- Providing clinical and non-clinical staff support with effective and skilled leadership
- Ensuring that optimal patient flow from the Emergency department is achieved at all times
- Ensuring all other bed-based services receive appropriate admissions after hours as per current guidelines
- Acting as a resource for nursing staff and hospital personnel by answering queries or referring concerns to appropriate persons

The Planned Surgery Recovery and reform Program is a state government initiative to improve patient access to planned surgery services. The program is aiming to implement innovative reforms that ultimately lead to improved patient outcomes.

As a Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Planned Surgery recovery and reform Program indicatives across the Barwon South West (BSW) Region.

As part of this role, you will be supporting the work that is currently underway in patient optimisation, improving waitlist management and theatre efficiency, as well as other initiatives that are identified. Key to this role is a collaborative approach to engagement with key stakeholders to support in the success of the program initiatives.

Essential: Currently registered as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Essential: IPM's proficiency
