Job Duties
Under general supervision, repair and perform maintenance on conventional tools, down-hole tools, and other equipment used in the application for down-hole tools.
Specializations may include mechanical aptitude, pressure testing, surface equipment, and down-hole tools.
Perform maintenance, inspect surface equipment, and carry out repairs.
Assemble and disassemble down-hole tools.
Skills are typically acquired through a high school diploma or similar education and 6-12 months of experience as a Tool Technician I or equivalent training.
Basic computer skills are preferred.
Licensure to operate commercial equipment may be required.
Effective communication skills are necessary due to the nature of oil field service work.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Basic reading comprehension and writing skills are required.
Promote safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and comply with all safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines.
Participate actively in quality improvement processes.
